A chilling incident has emerged from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. A young man brutally murdered his live-in partner and dumped her body in the Yamuna River in Banda, 100 kilometers away, with the help of a friend. This shocking revelation came to light after a lengthy two-month police investigation.

A Social Media Beginning

DCP South Deepender Nath Chaudhary shared that Vijayashri from Sujnipura village in Kanpur Dehat filed a missing report for her 20-year-old daughter Akanksha aka Mahi at Barra Police Station on August 8. Akanksha worked at a restaurant in Barra, where she met the accused through Instagram. Their online conversations led to friendship and eventually love, and they decided to live together.

Living in a Rented House

According to family members, Akanksha took a new job at the accused's request and moved into a rented house in the Hanumant Vihar area. Her sudden disappearance raised family suspicions. Initially, the police assumed she eloped. However, due to her mother's persistent efforts and a complaint to the Police Commissioner, the investigation took a new direction.

The Confession Unveiled the Truth

During the investigation, the boyfriend was interrogated rigorously. He tried to mislead the police, but mobile location data and call details exposed him. Eventually, he confessed to his crime. The accused revealed that he had relationships with other girls. Akanksha discovered this through mobile chat, which led to disputes between them.

The day of the incident began with a fight at the restaurant, escalating to a heated argument at home. In a fit of rage, the man severely beat Akanksha and strangled her to death. He then called a friend, and together they packed her body in a suitcase, transported it to Banda on a bike, and discarded it from the Chilla Bridge into the Yamuna River.

Pressure from Another Girlfriend Fueled the Murder

Further questioning revealed the accused was also involved with another woman who disapproved of his relationship with Akanksha and pressured him to end it. This pressure and ongoing disputes drove the accused to murder Akanksha. The DCP noted that although the accused initially attempted to derail the investigation, meticulous examination of mobile data, call logs, and movement records led the police to the truth. The accused and his friend from Fatehpur were arrested and jailed.

Family in Mourning, Police on Alert

The entire episode has devastated the victim's family, who were tirelessly searching for their daughter, and they are now grief-stricken following the news of her murder. Police officials have stated that lessons learned from this case will ensure more rigorous investigations in future crimes of this nature.
