The catastrophic crash of Air India's B-787 Dreamliner (AI-171) in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, has shocked the entire nation. This tragic accident has resulted in the loss of 265 lives, including passengers and 12 crew members. Miraculously, one passenger survived and is currently being treated in the hospital. The majority of the deceased were from Maharashtra, and their identities are gradually being revealed.
According to news agencies, one of the casualties was 23-year-old Maithili Patil, who was a crew member on this tragic flight.

Maithili Patil hailed from Nhava village in Raigad district and was the daughter of an ONGC labor contractor. Jitendra Mhatre, a former village head and relative, reported that Maithili called her father, Moreshwar Patil, before takeoff, assuring him she would 'call upon reaching London'. Sadly, that call never came.

Pilot Captain Sumit Sabharwal (56) resided with his elderly parents at Jalvayu Vihar, Powai in Mumbai, while co-pilot Clive Kunder lived in the western suburbs of Mumbai. Cabin crew member Deepak Pathak, was from Badlapur in Thane district and had been with Air India for 11 years, having spoken to his mother before embarking on this journey.
Aparna Mahadik (43), who was also a crew member, lived in Goregaon, and her husband works at Air India too. She was related to NCP leader Sunil Tatkare.
22-year-old Irfan Sameer Shaikh from Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune, had just entered the industry two years ago. His family shared that his dreams were vast, but now remain unfulfilled.
Shraddha Dhawan from Kalp Nagari Society, Mulund, also perished in the crash. Her family has been sent to Ahmedabad to provide a DNA sample. Roshni Rajendra Songhare from Dombivli and Sanita Chakravarti from Juhu Koliwada were part of the crew as well. Roshni was a travel influencer with over 54K followers on Instagram.
Mahadev Pawar (68) and his wife Asha (60) from Hatid village in Sangola Tehsil of Solapur, who had resided in Gujarat for the last 15 years, set out to meet their son in London and also fell victim to this disaster.

Yasha Kamdar Modha (32), daughter of Nagpur businessman Manish Kamdar, was traveling with her son Rudra and mother-in-law Rakshaben. Unfortunately, all three perished in the crash. The aircraft crashed shortly after taking off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad, landing on a medical college campus. The entire state of Maharashtra and the nation mourns with the bereaved families. An investigation into the crash has been ordered, and DNA tests are being used to identify the deceased.
