The victim's parents have expressed disappointment upon Sanjay Roy receiving a life sentence for the crime committed at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Mother Questions: Why Isn’t This the Rarest of Rare Case?
The victim's mother stated, "We are astounded. How is this not a rarest of rare case? A doctor on duty was raped and murdered. We are disheartened, as there was a larger conspiracy behind this crime." While announcing the sentence for Sanjay Roy, Additional District and Sessions Judge Anirban Das mentioned that this case doesn't fall under the category of rarest of rare, and hence issued a life imprisonment sentence.
Parents Refuse ₹1.7 Million Compensation
The victim's father stated that they would continue to fight until all perpetrators are punished. Additionally, the victim's parents refused compensation. The court directed the state government to provide a compensation of ₹1.7 million. Determined to Fight for Justice Till the End
