The Israeli army has advanced 48 kilometers into Lebanon. Terrified by the attacks, Hezbollah fighters have fled the area. There is still a minor skirmish involving the Lebanese army and a few remaining fighters. The population of Lebanon has vacated the area, with nearly one million people having fled.
The Israeli army has spread across southern Lebanon. Israel's National Security Cabinet has stated that this is the next phase of the fight against Hezbollah. It is the fourth time in nearly 50 years that the Israeli army has set foot on Lebanese soil, the last time being the 34-day war in 2006.

The Israeli army refers to this as a limited ground operation, supported by the Air Force. Bombs and missiles are being dropped from the skies to clear the way for ground troops. In addition, urban warfare is occurring in the streets and alleys of Lebanon. Israel has clarified that it does not intend to occupy Lebanon for an extended period.
Hezbollah Cleared from Two Dozen Villages
However, the Israeli army’s intentions remain unclear: How long will they stay and how much territory do they plan to occupy? As of October 1st, the Israeli army has freed two dozen villages in southern Lebanon from Hezbollah terrorists, having advanced 48 kilometers into Lebanese territory.

Localized Raids... Minimal Direct Conflict
The Israeli army is focusing its assaults on Hezbollah's bases, a strategy they've termed Localized Raids. So far, Hezbollah fighters have not engaged the Israeli army directly on the ground, with direct confrontations decreasing compared to those with Hamas in Gaza.
Hezbollah Denies Israeli Claims
Hezbollah spokesperson Mohammad Afif has outright denied all these claims by the Israeli army, calling them fabrications. According to UNIFIL, the Israeli army has selectively targeted Lebanese land but refrained from initiating a full-scale war. Israeli soldiers do not linger on Lebanese soil; they attack and then retreat immediately.
