The ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel has escalated fears of a potential Third World War. North Korea has stepped up, labeling Israel as a 'cancer' to Middle Eastern peace and a major culprit in global instability.
A spokesperson for North Korea's leader, Kim Jong-un, criticized the Israeli strike on Iran, describing it as a crime against humanity and warned of the potential for widespread conflict in an already unstable Middle East.
According to Korea's official news agency KCNA, on Thursday, a Foreign Ministry spokesperson expressed deep concerns about Israel's military strikes on Iranian civilians, nuclear, and energy sites, condemning these actions strongly.
The spokesperson stated that the killing of civilians in Israeli attacks is an 'unforgivable crime against humanity.' They accused Israel of state-sponsored terrorism, increasing the risk of regional warfare.
North Korea Warns the U.S. and European Countries
Since the onset of the Iran-Israel conflict, it's been suggested that the U.S. might partake in this war alongside ally Israel. The Wall Street Journal reported that U.S. President Trump informed his allies on Tuesday that he had approved attack plans on Iran but paused to see if Iran would abandon its nuclear program.
It is believed Trump might target Iran's Fordow underground uranium enrichment facility.
Trump aspires that Iran fully surrenders and halts uranium enrichment to prevent future nuclear weapon development. However, Iran has rejected Trump's proposal for unconditional surrender. Enraged by this, Trump announced on Wednesday, 'I might attack Iran, or I might not.'
Meanwhile, North Korea cautioned the U.S. and European nations against intervening in the conflict.
A spokesperson for Korea's Foreign Ministry remarked that the current situation serves as evidence that Israel, with the support of the U.S. and Western countries, acts as a 'cancer' to peace in the Middle East and is a principal instigator in the destruction of global peace and security. The international community is vigilantly observing the actions of America and Western powers, which are fueling the flames of war and challenging Iran's legitimate sovereignty and self-defense rights.
This statement from North Korea coincides with U.S. President Trump's declaration of losing patience on the Iran issue.
North Korea urged America to refrain from any actions and warned that the moves by America and its allies 'are leading the Middle East towards destruction.'
