The Indian Navy is about to unleash the next-generation advanced submarine killer, the formidable warship INS Arnala. In actuality, this is an Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW-SWC). Its creation is a joint endeavor by Kolkata's Garden Reach Shipbuilders, Cochin Shipyard, and Larsen & Toubro.
Under a project valued at 12,622 crore rupees, 16 warships will be constructed. The first of these is INS Arnala, soon to blaze through its sea trials. This corvette-class warship, displacing 900 tons, spans 255 feet in length with a beam reaching 34 feet. It cruises at a top speed of 46 kilometers per hour. The Navy is expected to take delivery within the next few months.
