Former MP Dhananjay Singh from Jaunpur Lok Sabha constituency has been hit with a major setback ahead of the elections, found guilty of kidnapping and extortion by the court. The Jaunpur court will announce the sentencing tomorrow, Wednesday. Currently, the convicted Dhananjay Singh has been sent to jail. A case had been registered against Dhananjay Singh and his associate Vikram on the complaint of project manager Abhinav Singhal from Namami Gange on 10 May 2020.

In fact, Abhinav reported being abducted by Vikram with two associates and taken to the former MP's residence where Dhananjay Singh threatened him with a pistol to use substandard materials. The police initiated an FIR based on the complaint, resulting in Singh's arrest though he secured bail later.

Dhananjay Singh Gears up for the Upcoming Lok Sabha Elections

Singh is prepping for testing his luck in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, which he hinted at through a social media post. After BJP's first list of candidates was out, spotlighting Kripashankar Singh for Jaunpur Lok Sabha seat, Singh responded with a post on his social media sharing a poster stating, "Comrades!
