On the 28th Foundation Day of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) at Bapu Auditorium in Patna, former Chief Minister Rabri Devi strongly objected to the Election Commission's special voter list revision process. She made a clear appeal to the people not to show any documents other than their Voter ID.

In her brief address, Rabri Devi stated, 'The central and Bihar governments are conspiring to strip the poor of their right to vote. By initiating this campaign before the assembly elections, they are planning to exclude the poor from the list.'

Rabri Devi expressed her discontent

Rabri Devi also expressed dissatisfaction over the demand for documents like birth certificates of parents. She questioned, 'If someone’s family members are no longer alive, where will they procure such documents from?'

She alleged that this procedure aims to confuse people and deny them the right to vote. She raised concerns, questioning why, after no such special revision for 20 years and 11 years of Modi government at the center, there was an urgency to complete this process in just a month.

During this event, Lalu Prasad Yadav was re-elected as the party's national president and was empowered to reorganize the national executive. The meeting was attended by senior leaders, including Lalu Prasad, Tejashwi Yadav, and representatives from across the country, including the head of the Kerala unit, M.V. Shreyas Kumar.

Rabri Devi's statements are seen as significant in the context of the upcoming assembly elections, where the opposition remains critical of the government over voter rights.
