India's security agencies have showcased their alertness once again. The Pakistan-based terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) hatched a significant revenge plan against India, but intelligence agencies timely unraveled and impeded it. Skilled doctors, engineers, and students were part of this conspiracy, which, if successful, would have unleashed unprecedented destruction in India.

This tale begins with the blast at the Red Fort, executed by JeM, taking 10 lives. Dr. Umar Unnabi was involved, drawn to the path of terror. As Intelligence sources divulged to India Today, JeM's leaders in Pakistan were troubled by their groups' disintegration in India, notably post the disruption of outfits like the Indian Mujahideen.

They strategized to train local terrorists for simultaneous attacks in multiple cities, forming part of this plot. Investigations kicked off in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, where JeM posters with attack threats appeared, leading to several arrests. Among them were Dr. Muzammil Shakeel and Dr. Adil, found possessing a vast cache of explosives.

The probe revealed an expansive JeM network involving doctors, engineers, and students influenced by extremist ideologies, trained for attacks. Spearheading this network is Sadia Azhar, chief of JeM's women's wing. She recruited and radicalized women to support Jaish's activities in India.

The ramifications of this diabolic plan, had it succeeded, would have been globally catastrophic for India. Thanks to vigilant security forces, disaster was averted. Yet, the question remains: Why is the terror threat rising in India?

Groups from Pakistan like JeM are regrouping, while educated individuals are being radicalized to terrorism. Hence, agencies must heighten their vigilance.

The spotlight now turns to Gujarat, where ATS nabbed Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Saeed. Far from small fry, he was a significant player. Mohiuddin concocted resin from castor oil, an odorless and tasteless substance, 600 times deadlier than cyanide. If infused into food items and sold in Hindu-majority areas, it could spell doom for thousands.

Deputy SP S.L. Chaudhry of the Gujarat ATS received a covert tip-off about a dangerous terrorist cell active in the country. Surveillance on an Andhra Pradesh suspect led to Dr. Mohiuddin, under observation, and unveiled his links to the Afghanistan-origin ISKP group, under guidance from Abu Khadija.

A search revealed two Glock pistols, a Beretta pistol, 30 live cartridges, and 10 liters of chemicals from Mohiuddin's car. During interrogation, he confessed to making resin from castor beans. This led to the arrest of Azad Saifi and Mohammed Suhail from Rajasthan.

Having conducted recces in Delhi, Lucknow, and Ahmedabad, their plan was meticulously devised. With investigations ongoing, further arrests could occur.

This incident highlights the evolving face of terrorism. Educated individuals are getting involved, and chemical attack conspiracies are bubbling. Security agencies are on alert, but public awareness is paramount. Only through covert tips and strict monitoring can such plans be foiled. The Indian government affirms its resolve to continue the battle against terrorism, teaching groups like JeM a deserved lesson.
