Operation Sindoor and Colonel Sophia Qureshi:
The quaint village of Konnur in Karnataka's Belagavi district has found a place in the spotlight. Within this village, the home of Mohammad Ghaous Saheb Baghdadi stands proudly as a beacon of national pride, bustling with guests and well-wishers every morning and evening, thanks to his daughter-in-law, Colonel Sophia Qureshi. Yes, the village has become famous due to Colonel Sophia Qureshi's dissemination of information on 'Operation Sindoor', initiated by the Indian Armed Forces to avenge the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
Originally from Gujarat, Colonel Sophia Qureshi is married to Tajuddin Baghdadi, a resident of this village. An esteemed military leader, she holds the distinction of being the first Indian woman officer to lead the ASEAN Plus multinational military exercise 'Force 18'. Presently, Colonel Sophia Qureshi is stationed in Jammu while her spouse is positioned in Jhansi.
As journalists crowded around, Mohammad Ghaous Saheb Baghdadi expressed his immense pride, stating, 'I learned about this yesterday afternoon. My joy knew no bounds when I saw her (Sophia Qureshi) on television. People have been visiting our house since morning to congratulate us.' Although he communicated with his son on Thursday, he didn't get the opportunity to speak with his daughter-in-law.

He vehemently declared, 'Allah will never forgive them. They will face retribution for their deeds here.' Addressing the neighboring country, he commented, 'Pakistan is a menace. It never attacks head-on, always resorting to stealth tactics.'
Colonel Sophia's father-in-law, Baghdadi, emphasized peaceful coexistence in their region, home to Marathas and various communities. He remarked, 'All my neighbors were filled with pride seeing my children serve in the army. Their happiness was palpable. They invited me and honored me. We live here like one big family.'
