The Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court has issued a bailable warrant against Bijnor DM Jasjit Kaur. Justice Manish Kumar issued this warrant when the DM failed to appear in court despite repeated instructions. The court has ordered the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Bijnor to ensure the DM’s presence in court on January 5, 2026.

This entire case originates from a petition filed by Vikram Singh Dhanger, a resident of Dhampur, Bijnor. His Dhanger caste certificate was revoked just eight days before his retirement. He filed the petition against this decision in the High Court. The court had instructed the DM to resolve the matter based on the Supreme Court's past decisions and after a vigilance investigation by the Social Welfare Department.

However, allegations emerged that DM Jasjit Kaur issued a unilateral order without any investigation. Vikram Singh Dhanger challenged this order by filing a contempt petition in court. During the hearing, the court requested the DM's personal appearance, but instead, the District Social Welfare Officer appeared on her behalf.

It is now the responsibility of the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Bijnor to ensure that DM Jasjit Kaur appears in court on January 5, 2026.
