Bihar: Three Officers, Four Smugglers Arrested in Liquor Smuggling

A significant revelation has emerged amid liquor prohibition in Begusarai district. In the Bakhri police station area, three police officers and four liquor smugglers were apprehended on smuggling charges. All have been sent to judicial custody. The arrests occurred on Friday morning by Bakhri police.

According to information, a raid was conducted based on reports of a liquor-laden pickup van near Salauna railway station. There, three Tiger Mobile constables, Mohammad Niyaz Alam, Chandan Kumar, and Shashi Kumar, were found under suspicious circumstances. Interrogation and mobile checks revealed their connection to the liquor smugglers.

Three Policemen and Four Smugglers Apprehended

Based on their information, police arrested four liquor traders: Raj Kumar Sah, Raja Kumar, Vikas Kumar, and Anand Paswan. Authorities seized 22 liters of country-made liquor, 3 liters of foreign liquor, cash amounting to 17,500 INR, and 8 mobile phones from them.

Bakhri DSP Kundan Kumar stated that the suspicious behavior of the Tiger Mobile officers led to their detention for investigation. Inputs from mobile data confirmed their collusion. Subsequently, the four smugglers were also arrested.

Mobile Data Exposed the Collusion

Recommendations for departmental inquiries and suspension have been made against the Tiger Mobile officers. However, one arrested officer has accused the DSP of framing him falsely, and the investigation continues.
