In the Haryana Assembly elections, eight out of ten ministers from the Nayab Singh Saini government faced defeat. Assembly Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta also lost his Panchkula seat to Congress's Chandra Mohan, yet BJP is gearing up for a third term despite the anti-incumbency wave.
Although eight BJP ministers lost, Ranjit Singh Chautala was among them, running independently from Rania after failing to get a party ticket, finishing in third place. INLD's Arjun Chautala secured the seat by defeating Congress's Sarv Mittar by 4,191 votes.
Minister Aseem Goel loses in Ambala City
Ranjit Singh Chautala, who had contested the Hisar Lok Sabha seat on a BJP ticket, faced defeat. In Thanesar, BJP's Subhash Sudha was defeated by Congress's Ashok Arora by a margin of 3,243 votes. BJP's Sanjay Singh took third place in Nuh, where Congress's Aftab Ahmed triumphed over INLD's Tahir Hussain by 46,963 votes.
BJP's Aseem Goel, also a minister in Saini's cabinet, lost in Ambala City to Congress's Nirmal Singh Mohra by 11,131 votes. In Hisar, BJP's Kamal Gupta was also defeated. Independent candidate Savitri Jindal secured the seat by defeating nearest rival Congress's Ram Niwas Rara.
BJP triumphs in Panipat Rural
In Jagadhri, BJP's Kanwar Pal was defeated by Congress's Akram Khan, who triumphed by 6,868 votes. In Loharu, BJP's Jai Prakash Dalal was beaten by Congress candidate Rajbir Fartia by 792 votes.
From the Nangal Chaudhary seat, BJP's Abhay Singh Yadav was defeated by Congress's Manju Chaudhary by 6,930 votes. However, in Panipat Rural, BJP's Mahipal Dhanda defeated Congress's Sachin Kundu by a margin of 50,212 votes. In Ballabhgarh, BJP's Moolchand Sharma secured victory over independent candidate Sharda Rathore by 17,730 votes.
