After securing a hat-trick of victories in Haryana, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) celebrated with a dash of humor aimed at the Congress. The BJP state unit made Rahul Gandhi the target of a playful jalebi prank. During the recent Haryana elections, jalebi became the talk of the town. The BJP placed an order for 1 kg of jalebi from the renowned Bikanervala store located in Connaught Place, Delhi. This sweet treat came with a price tag of approximately 609 rupees, including tax. The order was hilariously addressed to the Congress headquarters at 24, Akbar Road, in the national capital, with the recipient's name cleverly labeled as "Jalebi for Rahul Gandhi."

The most amusing part of this jalebi order was that it came with a 'Cash on Delivery' payment option.

The Haryana BJP shared the order's screenshot on social media, amusingly stating, "On behalf of all BJP Haryana workers, jalebi has been sent to Rahul Gandhi's residence."

Why Did Jalebi Make Headlines?

Sending jalebi to Rahul Gandhi by the BJP had a significant backstory. On October 8, as election results began to pour in, signaling a consecutive third-term victory for BJP in Haryana, jalebi started trending on social media. Rahul Gandhi had made a jibe about jalebi while tasting the delicacy at a local shop in Gohana, Haryana, turning it into an election topic. He proposed the idea of producing jalebi on a factory and industrial scale, aiming to make it accessible in every corner of India and the world.

However, this suggestion did not sit well with the BJP, which trolled Rahul Gandhi with statements like, "Jalebi factories don't exist." After the triumphant win in the Haryana elections, BJP did not miss the chance to celebrate their historic victory with jalebi as the centerpiece. Rajasthan Chief Minister and BJP leader Bhajanlal Sharma took it a step further by attempting to make his own jalebi.
