Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Abhishek Banerjee has now openly challenged the Chief Election Commissioner. He claims the CEC stated that all concerns TMC raised were addressed during last week's meeting. If this is true, then provide evidence, or else we will take this matter to court.

Abhishek didn’t stop there. He launched a fierce attack on the BJP, stating, 'The BJP assumed winning Bengal would be easy through SIR. They briefed the election commission to strike off one crore (10 million) voters. The BJP were the first to shout about this massive removal... it was their scare tactics that created this tense environment and led to deaths during SIR. The responsibility for the death of those 40 individuals lies with the BJP.' He clearly stated that assaults on Bengal's people should cease. If the BJP has issues with TMC, battle us directly; there’s no need to terrorize citizens.

'We’re not against SIR; we’re against its flawed execution.'

Previously, responding to the PM’s ‘drama’ remarks, Abhishek said that the opposition is just asking for a debate on SIR—is raising public concerns a drama? If so, the public will respond in the next election. Forty individuals, including BLOs, died during SIR. They blame the ECI, but where is the government’s accountability? During demonetization, people queued for black money to end, which has only increased.

On accountability, he stated: explosions occur at Pahalgam, terrorists infiltrate, where is the accountability? Forty lives were lost due to SIR's poor planning, and BJP thinks we are doing drama? We aren’t against SIR but its wrong execution. BLOs weren’t trained, discrepancies weren’t resolved, voter lists weren’t updated, and when questions arise, they call it drama. Bengal’s ₹2 trillion remains withheld.
