In Maharashtra, voting for the 288 assembly seats is scheduled for November 20. Amidst this, the BJP has lodged a complaint with the Election Commission accusing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of making false statements during public gatherings and maligning the BJP with unfounded accusations. The BJP claims that Rahul Gandhi has been persistently attacking them with baseless charges, particularly about undermining the constitution, which they say is completely unfounded.

BJP's Complaint to the Election Commission

Union Minister of State for Law and Justice (Independent Charge) Arjun Ram Meghwal stated that a BJP delegation met Election Commission Chief Rajiv Kumar to express their concern that the Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, once again spread lies during the Maharashtra elections on November 6. They accused him of pitting states against each other and shredding the constitution. They reiterated these allegations were blatant lies, claiming that Rahul Gandhi said the BJP plans to destroy the constitution, a statement they call false.

Demand for FIR Registration

They urged the Election Commission to intervene, highlighting that Rahul Gandhi's behavior persists despite warnings and notices. They requested an FIR be filed against him under Section 353 of the IPC.
