While conflicts rage on between Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Gaza-Lebanon, there's another pair of nations often at war: Armenia and Azerbaijan. Frequent skirmishes between their forces are not uncommon. Recently, it was reported that Azerbaijan has deployed its LORA Missile against Armenia, causing significant concern for Armenia.
Turning their eyes to India's surface-to-surface Pralay Missile, Armenia considers this powerful weapon. But first, let's delve into Azerbaijan's LORA Missile...

LORA Missile: Known for Its Long Range and High Speed
LORA stands for Long-Range Artillery. This theater quasi-ballistic missile boasts a range of 90 to 430 kilometers. Weighing 1,600 kilograms and standing at 5.2 meters in length, it carries a 570-kilogram warhead. Developed by Israel, discussions about manufacturing LORA in India took place last year as well.
While the exact speed remains undisclosed, the warhead can be equipped with high explosives, bomblets, or high-speed penetrator warheads. During the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in 2020, Azerbaijan effectively deployed this missile to destroy critical bridges.

Now, Let's Explore the Might of India's Pralay Missile...
The Pralay Missile is a short-range surface-to-air and surface-to-surface missile with a reach of 150 to 500 kilometers and a speed of 2,000 km/hr. Notably, as it descends toward its target, its speed increases dramatically. The short range is advantageous for swiftly eliminating enemy bases near the border.
What makes Pralay so deadly is its accuracy and speed. Weighing five tons, it can carry conventional warheads weighing between 500 to 1,000 kilograms. The missile incorporates technology from three other missiles: Prahaar, Prithvi-2, and Prithvi-3.
Remarkably, the Pralay Missile can also operate at night, supporting warheads with high explosives, penetration, cluster munitions, fragmentation, thermobaric, and chemical weapon capabilities. It is launched using an 8X8 Tata Transporter Erector Launcher.

Pralay’s precision in hitting its targets boasts a 10-meter (33-foot) accuracy. Even if it falls within a 33-foot radius of its target, it causes as much damage as hitting the target directly. Thus, it effectively destroys the intended area, causing the desired level of destruction.
