Alleged Relations After Dating App Encounter Claims DU Student

A Delhi University student has accused a man of rape. According to the student, she initially connected with the accused through a mobile application, after which he visited her and engaged in non-consensual relations at his residence. The police have registered a case based on the complaint.

As reported, this incident occurred in the Gulabi Bagh police station area of the national capital, Delhi. The victim filed a complaint with the authorities. In the complaint, she stated that she made the acquaintance of a young man through a dating app on January 17, 2023. This was followed by regular communication.

Subsequently, on January 18, 2023, he pressured her to meet late at night. Initially, the victim refused to meet. Later on, she agreed to meet at a tea shop. When she reached the shop to meet the young man, it got very late.

Later that night, around three in the morning, the accused took her to his residence in Basant Nagar, Delhi. There, he forcefully established physical relations with the student. The next morning, the victim managed to return home and disclosed everything to her family.

Police Register Case and Begin Investigation

The student went ahead and filed a complaint with the police. Based on this complaint, the police registered a case under IPC Section 376 at the Gulabi Bagh police station. Officials state that an investigation is currently underway.
