UP News:

The appearance of a python in Meerut's Jagriti Vihar has sent waves of panic among the locals. As the forest department allegedly delays action, people have plastered the area with 'missing python' posters, announcing a reward of ₹1100 for any information. Interestingly, the forest department claims that two smaller pythons have already been rescued, with no definite evidence of the much-feared larger python found.

According to reports, 'missing python' posters have appeared at Kirti Palace in Jagriti Vihar, Meerut. The poster declares: A python 30 feet in length, wheatish with spots, missing near Jagriti Vihar Sector 2 Power House. A reward of 1100 rupees awaits anyone providing information. Alongside this, accusations of negligence are being directed at the forest department. Days ago, two pythons, one large and one small, were reportedly seen in the area.

The information reached the forest department, but by the time they arrived, the larger python had vanished. Although the team managed to capture the smaller python, another juvenile appeared two days later, which was again reported and captured. However, capturing the large python has remained elusive, leaving the community gripped by fear.

Frustrated by perceived negligence, the area was further blanketed with missing python posters, promising a cash reward for information. Vinit Chaprana, named on the posters, is a student leader. Chaprana remarks that the python's presence has residents serving night watch duties. In Meerut's Medical Police Station jurisdiction, the python's influence is widespread. Despite the forest department catching two pythons measuring between 5 to 6 feet last week, the mission to apprehend the 30-foot giant remains unaccomplished. The students and community members around the power house have mobilized with these missing python alerts, calling for decisive actions and a rescue operation.

Meerut's District Forest Officer, Rajesh Kumar, confirms reports of a python, explaining that two pythons have already been rescued, while search teams continue their mission. Until now, there is no verified evidence of another python but warns against misinformation. The forest department remains committed, having issued contact numbers for the public to report any verified sightings.
