The vote counting for the Maharashtra assembly elections will begin at 8 am on Saturday. All eyes are on the results of the battle between the ruling BJP-led 'Mahayuti' alliance and the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance. Members from both alliances are asserting their respective victories. Central Minister Ramdas Athawale has also expressed his views.
Athawale stated that according to the exit poll reports, Mahayuti might form the government. 'We are in touch with many independents. We are in touch with our alliance partners. We won’t face any difficulty in forming a government,' he said.
He added, 'Maha Vikas Aghadi's work is to accuse, while ours is to develop the country and its people. This will benefit us in the Maharashtra elections. The people are with us, and according to the exit polls, Mahayuti will form the government. We won’t face difficulty in forming the government. Mahayuti will definitely form the government in Maharashtra. Our government will fulfill its promises.'
It should be noted that voting in the state recorded 66.05% on November 20, compared to 61.1% in 2019. A total of 288 counting centers, including one for the Nanded Lok Sabha by-election, have been set up for vote counting on Saturday. Each assembly constituency will be monitored by a counting supervisor, while two supervisors will oversee the counting in the Nanded Lok Sabha by-election.
An election commission official said that due to the high number of postal ballots, 1,732 tables for postal ballot counting and 592 tables for the Electronically Transmitted Postal Ballot System (ETPBS) have been set up to ensure a smooth counting process across all assembly constituencies.
